Turing Charity Month: Blossom of Hope

We are thrilled to announce that Turing House is launching its first month-long charity event in support of Blossom of Hope. BOH, part of the International Women’s Association of Vilnius, is a charity that purchases and distributes medical supplies for cancer diagnostics to leading hospitals in Lithuania. Lithuania sees 1700 new breast cancer cases every year, the most common cancer in women. IWAV helps women from less-accessible regions in Lithuania to have access to state-of-the-art cancer diagnosis and treatment! This year they were able to take approximately 1000 women from all over Lithuania to the National Cancer Institute for breast cancer tests.

As part of this initiative, we are running a range of events this month including a PINK DRESS DAY on Monday 30th September, a sponsored walk and turning the monuments of Vilnius Pink with scarves.

We are kicking off our sponsored walk by walking a lap of the field as a school in our pink clothes on Monday! We are then hosting a sponsored walk to keep students active while raising funds for this great cause. We encourage family, friends and neighbours to sponsor our students' efforts by donating a set amount of money per kilometre walked. The more each student walks, the more money they raise! We’ll also be tracking each student's progress using the Strava app throughout the event.

Ready? Set? Walk!
