MARK FLYNN

“THE ABILITY TO PROBLEM SOLVE IS SOMETHING THAT CAN ONLY BE AN ASSER THROUGHOUT A CHILD’S DAY TO DAY LIFE AND FUTURE EMPLOYMENT.”

I studied Mathematics at the University of Leeds, after which I worked in software testing and the hospitality industry for a number of years. After the birth of my eldest daughter, I decided to pursue a change in career, attending the University of Sussex where I achieved my PGCE in Secondary Mathematics. I have always been a keen mathematician and wholeheartedly believe in the benefits that Mathematics can bring to the education of a child. The ability to problem-solve is something that can only be an asset throughout a child’s day to day life and future employment. Being a teacher allows me to use my own life experiences to impact a child's life in a positive way, encouraging them to grow as individuals and reach their true potential by developing their own talents and interests. I was previously Head of Mathematics at a Prep School in the south of England and have taught GCSE Mathematics at a British International school in Thailand.
