STAFF PROFILE - TEACHER

Joe garrett

“I ENJOY HELPING MY PUPILS TO MAKE THE MOST OF EVERY LESSON. I MAKE MY LESSONS ABOUT PRACTISING RATHER THAN MEMORISING FACTS.”

I graduated from the University of Nottingham. After completing my teacher training I worked in Nottingham for two years before deciding to teach internationally. I am moving to BSV after two years of teaching in an international school in Zomba, Malawi.

I believe that the very best lessons are about practising the skills that are needed in the real world and having as much opportunity to do this. I want pupils to feel safe to make mistakes and to learn from them.

I will also strive to provide as many opportunities for pupils to learn outside of the classroom, there is no better way to learn more about our world than by getting out of the classroom and going on a field trip.

About Mr Garrett

In my free time I like to be active. Football is something that I grew up around in my home city of Liverpool, so when I am not on the pitch then I will always be talking tactics.
