Mr Richard Hurst
Primary Classroom Teacher – Year 3/4
I have been teaching full-time for over 14 years, after qualifying in 2005. I worked in the UK for 4 years followed by the last 10 years in The Middle East – in both Key Stages 1 & 2. I taught in various classroom settings including helping serve as a professional development mentor, presented workshops for new teachers and took an active role in the community. I have had a major influence on setting up and supporting the ECA’s (Extra Curriculum Activities) within my school and have helped to create a stimulating learning program. I am dedicated to becoming a life-long educator and learner, and I strive to instil a similar desire all my students in the classroom. I am really excited about how my experience and teaching philosophy will help to create a stimulating, vibrant learning environment at BSV.
In my personal life, I have had the wonderful opportunity to travel quite a bit around many different countries in Asia and Europe. I enjoy experiencing different cultures and tasting many different delicious foods. My biggest passion in life, apart from the teaching, of course, is football. I enjoy cooking, walking and spending time with my daughter Charlotte (who is 5 years old) and my wife MaryRose. I am looking forward to experiencing different weather climates that Lithuania has to offer. My wife and daughter are really looking forward to having the opportunity to experience the snow as both have never seen snow so far in their lives.
We are going to learn so many great things this year, and I am looking forward to every minute of it.
