Charities We Support

The Turing Trust - Turing House

The Turing Trust supports education in sub-Saharan Africa by reusing computers and improving teacher training using ICT. We provide skills development in the UK while reducing waste and contributing to an environmentally friendly society.
For every £13 raised, this enabled the Trust to put 1 more PC into an African classroom meaning another 18 students will learn vital IT skills. This also has a carbon saving impact in offsetting 0.49 tonnes of CO2 which is equivalent to planting a tree. Moreover, the energy saving impact also means each PC they reuse in a classroom offsets enough energy to power 16 TVs for a year!

Shackleton Foundation - Shackleton House

The Shackleton Foundation improves the lives of disadvantaged young people across the UK. We do this through our unique leadership investment programme, inspired by legendary explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton’s incredible courage and resilience in the face of adversity.

They support social entrepreneurs who embody the leadership spirit of Shackleton; brave innovators with a creative vision to directly improve the lives of socially and economically marginalised young people.

The Rosalind Franklin Society - Franklin House

The Rosalind Franklin Society is an honorific, interdisciplinary, and international society which recognizes, fosters, and advances the important contributions of women in the life sciences and affiliated disciplines. In so doing, the Society honors the under-recognized achievements of the late Rosalind Franklin (1920-1958), a British x-ray crystallographer whose work producing x-ray images of DNA was crucial in the discovery of its structure by James Watson and Francis Crick.

Toward accomplishing its mission, the Society works to enable women to achieve more tenure-track appointments in academia as well as leadership positions in industry, academia, and government. As these goals are achieved, the Society communicates them to the scientific community and to talented young women to motivate them to pursue science as a profession.

Literacy Trust - Eliot House

The Literacy Trust help to transform lives through literacy. They establish literacy projects in the poorest communities. Their National Literacy Trust Hubs inspire and support children and families to improve their literacy skills. They support schools by sharing their analysis, promoting best practice and offer programmes and resources for schools and early years settings.

They campaign to make literacy a priority for politicians and parents
Our Words for Life website provides advice, age milestones and free activities for parents and families

Their research and analysis make them the leading authority on literacy.
